Built during the Hover Adminstration he could not be here for the ribbon cutting ceremony but did appear by telephone. The initial way north and south in Seattle it had tram and train lines. Even after I-5 came through in the middle 1960' the Aurora Bridge remains vital to north-south tansportation in this area of Seattle. In spans just about the narrowest area where Lake Union travels out too the Locks (see seperate Gallery).
